25 August 2014 (Monday) - Independence Day Program "We Love Malaysia" was carried out. The program starts from August 25 to August 31 2014. This program is one of the annual program of the university. It is the cooperation of 3 secretariat which are Secretariat of Unity and Community Network, Secretariat of Academic and Alumni, and Secretariat of Sports and the Arts from the students’ council. The main activities during this program is Aspresiasi Bahasa which held on 25th to 29th August, followed by the closing ceremony of the Independence Day and “Merdeka Run” on 31st August 2014.
“Aspresiasi Bahasa” week is a program that specifically designed as a platform to increase professionalism in academic as well as the application of language, quality and grammatical. The program is to emphasize the importance of language as a medium to communicate, exchanging information, knowledge and ideas. The program which entitled " Bahasa Melayu Dijunjung, Bahasa Inggeris Dikendong, Bahasa Arab Didukung " is to empower the Malay language and strengthen and reinforce English and Arabic as the language of the Qur'an. This program is also help to create a generation that enhance the use of language in daily life as well as creating a reading culture especially among undergraduates UPMKB.
Various competitions and activities were conducted which were Spell It Right, Comic Dialogue, Poetry and Oratory Competition. This program is also having the theme of "INDEPENDENCE DAY" as the activities were conducted during the month of independence.
