BREAST CANCER AWARNESS PROGRAM 2018

The Breast Cancer Awarness Program 2018 was organized in conjunction with the month of breast cancer awareness by Columbia Asia Hospital Bintulu in collaboration with Universiti Putra Malaysia Bintulu Sarawak Campus, Bintulu Health Clinic and Sarawak Breast Cancer Support Group (SBCSG). This program aims to provide awareness to the community about the dangers of breast cancer as well as the method of detecting early signs of breast cancer on yourself. The program also aims to provide exposure to the community on breast cancer risk.

Among the activities that took place on the day were Health Talk, Zumba, Busking Performance, Lucky Draw and release 400 pink balloons symbolizing the month-long celebration of breast cancer awareness. A talk on breast cancer and health screening for cancer has been done by Dr Mark Jeevan, Health Officer, Columbia Asia Hospital, Dr Norliza binti Jusoh, Health Officer, Bintulu Health Office, and Dr. Rawa Bau, Health Officer, Bintulu Health.

Through the Breast Cancer Awarness Programe 2018 program, UPMKB Volunteers can gain a deeper knowledge of breast cancer as well as increase their awareness of how dangerous cancer is. Cancer is the No.1 killer in the country

Breast Cancer Awarness Program 2018 was conducted on October 20, 2018 (Saturday), involving 70 volunteers from University Putra Malaysia Campus Bintulu, Sarawak. This program is an annual program organized by Columbia Asia Hospital Bintulu. The program is lead by Encik Hazlim Sham bin Ibrahim as General Manager of Columbia Asia Hospital Bintulu in collaboration with Universiti Putra Malaysia Bintulu Sarawak Campus.
